Meet Dayhanara Pena
Nurse Practitioner - DNP, APRN. FNP-BC
Dr. Pena earned her BSN, with Sigma Theta Tau honors, from Boston College Connell School of Nursing in Boston in 1998. She gained extensive experience in the area of intensive care, trauma, and oncology from Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and New England Medical Center for 6 years before relocating to Tampa, FL.
She then joined Moffitt Cancer Center for 13 years working in the oncology intensive care unit caring for complex cancer and bone marrow transplant patients requiring critical care support.
She pursued her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida, graduating in 2016 with high honors and was inducted into the International Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. She joined the Pediatrics Department at USF in 2016 as a Nurse Practitioner while continuing to pursue her doctorate degree.
Her doctorate study of interest was early childhood vaccination and healthcare provider education. She completed and graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, terminal degree, from the University of South Florida in 2018. She is an adjunct faculty at USF College of Nursing teaching master and doctorate level students.
She also serves as clinical preceptor to residents and students from the USF MCOM, USF College of Nursing, and USF Taneja College of Pharmacy. She has received teaching, clinical, and patient experience recognition during her career.
She is board-certified in Family Practice through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her clinical special interests include primary care in both internal medicine and pediatrics, women’s health, health promotion and disease prevention, obesity, and the care and prevention of patients with chronic diseases.
At Inertia Concierge & Aesthetic Medicine Dr. Pena specializes in comprehensive wellness at a concierge level for patients. She is exceptionally passionate about women’s health, hormone optimization and helping patients feel and look their best.
